A Church Assessment could be just what you need right now

Like a routine “check-up” is good for the ongoing well-being of your body, a Church Health Assessment gives you an understanding of the current health of your church body. Whether your church is thriving, plateaued, or in decline – a Church Health Assessment will help you make informed, bold, next step decisions as you carry out your God-given leadership responsibilities.

If your church is…

  • getting ready for (or in) a transition of any kind…
  • preparing for a time of strategic planning…
  • contemplating future expansion…

. . .  a Church Health Assessment will help you move toward greater health and ministry impact.

Our Church Assessment three-part plan

  • ONE: Church Health Consultation

Before you say “no” or “yes” to a Church Health Assessment, let’s talk. Pastor Dave Gudgel, our VCN Director of Church Health, is available for a 15-30 minute phone or Zoom conversation. If you or your church leadership team would like more general information, or have specific questions, Dave can help. For the past 40 years Dave has served as the Lead Pastor in three churches. He loves local churches and longs to see them thrive.

  • TWO: Church Health Assessment

During the Assessment, ten primary indicators of church health will be examined to determine the current state of your church’s health. The following tools are used:

      • A general intake questionnaire
      • Historical information and data
      • Staff and leadership input
      • A church-wide assessment survey
      • On-site assessment and interviews
  • THREE: Church Health Report

The Church Health Assessment Report will first be reviewed with your church leadership (often on a Saturday), and then with the congregation (often on a Sunday). Usually, a brief summary of the report is presented orally before the detailed report is made available in writing.

Our Church Assessment follow-up coaching

In the six months following the Church Health Assessment, VCN will provide twelve hours of consultation or training as you implement your assessment learnings.
